Welcome

“आशाको दियो”  which means “Light of Hope” was founded in 2006 by Mr. Rajan Pandit in the memory of socialist Lt. Bishnu Prasad Pandit who always had the hope that women will come forward in one or the other day . He was even said to be mad when he raised the voice against the women crime and the so called cast system of the society. He used to encourage children to attend the school. Hence, it is an organization working in favor of child education and women empowerment in the rural community of Nepal. The cast system is still a tap root in Nepali community. In spite of many will, domination due to cast system is still in the same shape. Light of Hope strongly believes that a person is same regardless of  blood, skin, race or the coloror the terotary where they are from. So the discrimination due to cast is the biggest social crime that a man does. By nature all people are the same. All have the right to touch each other, drink from the shared pot and share the feelings and love.

The women are infact active, silent, diligent and efficient group in the community. They talk, move and act with determination. Only thing that has been lacking is the opportunity. Hence we strongly believes in women education and expossion. Light of hope is a hope to creat a strong community by promoting self-reliance and self- confidence among women through self- development training and socio-economic eempowerment. There are lots of hidden facts and pain of domestic violence and male domination. The organization is focused to empower women and help them be educated about the issues affecting their day to day life.

We strongly believes that mobilization of local resources with community participation is the only key of success. We host trainings and seminars on violence and discrimination against women. Our main goal is to provide the opportunity to apply the abilities of women and children. Women should come in the main stream of development of the nation.

The training also includes information related to maternity, children’s health, sanitation, safe drinking water and nutrition.

Light of Hope believes that women empowerment is possible by mobilizing women, raise awareness about women issues such as education, health, income generation and human rights, provide skill training.

The organization consists of a board of nine people and three staff members working in conjuction with various advisers, volunteers and the donors.
